Premium guitar company Two Old Hippies wanted their booth at the NAMM, one of the largest music trade shows in the world, to stand out from the competition while expressing the natural beauty of their Aspen, CO corporate headquarters. Two Old Hippies contacted Commercial Silk Int'l to use silk plants for their booth exhibit to replicate the Aspen, Birch and Pine trees that make Aspen so endearing and unique.
Working closely with an exhibit designer, Commercial Silk Int'l designed the booth with fall-colored trees and plants indigenous to the Aspen area. The artificial deciduous trees used in the design included artificial Aspen, Birch, and Evergreen trees, including a signature silk Scotch Pine tree scaled up to fourteen feet.
For ease of transportation and a hassle-free set up, seven sectional ground forms were manufactured and covered with artificial moss, grass, silk ferns and small Mugho Pine bushes, enabling the large artificial trees to be easily secured and assembled on site.
The NAMM trade show adheres to the CA state fire code, which requires that decorative materials and fabrics (including silk plants) be made from a nonflammable material, or treated with approved flame retardant chemicals. Fortunately for Two Old Hippies, Commercial Silk Int'l Inherently Fire Retardant silk plant material passes strict California fire codes and offers consistent flame protection.
The silk plant ground forms helped to define, soften and scale the 2,000 square foot booth. The fall colors of the artificial Aspen trees and Birch trees reinforced the company corporate identity by successfully and authentically reproducing the Aspen natural environment and the Two Old Hippies headquarters. The sectional land forms and simple tree positioning made it very easy for the show personnel to assemble the Aspen Rocky Mountain theme installation, and disassemble for future use.
