Potted Artificial Grass & Decorative Ficus Trees for Bank Decor

situation:

Klein Bank was looking to use a combination of potted artificial grass and decorative ficus tree to update their bank building lobby, among other upgrades. The building had a very distinctive architectural style but it lacked organization. Plus, the ceilings were also too high and there was a built-in planter pot that was going unused.

initiatives:

Commercial Silk Int’l was contracted to create and install a plantscape design using potted grasses that would address the client’s organizational concerns while taking environmental factors into account. It was determined that light levels in the bank were insufficient to support some live plants. It was also discovered that the built-in planter was not water tight. Finally, the budget for ongoing costs was minimal and would need to be factored into manufacturing and ongoing maintenance.

results:

Commercial Silk Int'l ultimately selected large artificial trees for the design and placed them in areas that made the bank space feel more organized, while providing a kind of scale that made the ceilings feel lower than they actually were. Decorative artificial Ficus trees potted in decorative containers surrounded by silk grasses lent a friendly and trustworthy feel.

In order to maximize the budget, the artificial trees were manufactured with lighter densities, and live potted plant material was used in the built-in planter to eliminated the expense of waterproofing it. Overall, the combination of grasses and plants transformed the bank office space into an atmosphere that felt authentic and alive, while cutting back on ongoing management costs.
