situation:
A big outdoor retail store in Florida wanted to use artificial trees to help create a rich retail store environment decor and help tell the story of its brand at the in-store level. It also wanted to give customers an authentic shopping experience while creating unique and identifiable spaces within the retail store. Artificial Mangrove trees and Long Needle Pine trees would provide the anchor environment decoration to make the store feel like an authentic display.
initiatives:
Custom manufacturing capabilities were put to the test on this project. Taking direction from the visual merchandise design team, Commercial Silk Int’l craftsmen built exact replicas of silk Mangroves, Sea Grapes, tropical Date Palms and Long Needle Pine trees. Knowing that the trees would have to be efficiently assembled on site, they were made with detachable branches, which also allowed for easy packing and shipping.
results:
Various silk plants were used for rock landscaping in retail windows and store displays. Tropical artificial palm trees defined the fishing section, and the Pine trees created an authentic feeling of outdoors for the hunting products area.
Overall, the artificial plants and trees succeeded in creating a memorable retail store environment experience. Most importantly, manufacturing was completed on time and within budget, which helped the outdoor retailer hit the ground running with its initial store opening.
