National Retailer Creates Artificial Habitat

SITUATION:

Cabela’s® is one of the largest providers of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear and has grown into what people know today as the “World’s Foremost Outfitter.”® Part of the Company’s success has been through the creation of retail locations that provide a truly unique shopping experience and are as much wildlife museums and education centers as they are retail stores. The retail stores showcase Cabela’s® trademark style that evokes the feeling of the outdoors. The centerpiece includes a replica mountain complete with waterfalls cascading into ponds, live trout and displays of trophy animals, several of these animals are shown interacting in realistic recreations of their natural habitat.

INITIATIVES:

Commercial Silk Int’l was selected to recreate the natural habitat using artificial plants, trees and shrubs. Our team worked closely with the artificial rock vendor to select and design the appropriate vegetation/habitat for the various wildlife. In connection with the design, Commercial Silk Int'l manufactured a custom wilderness collection of artificial trees and shrubs that provided an authentic, natural looking habitat for the trophy animals.

RESULTS:

Commercial Silk Int'l has successfully completed various national installations. The retail sites are so extraordinary in design that they have become top tourist attractions, drawing visitors from hundreds of miles away.
