SITUATION:
  
A vacation resort in Minnesota was adding a 12,000 square foot Northern Hideaway Indoor Water Park featuring three story slides, a lazy river, kids activity pool, basketball pool and whirlpool spa to their family resort property located on 350 acres. The property owner wanted the themed water park to be a continuation of the natural beauty that surrounded the family resort. The owner indicated several indigenous artificial plants that would compliment the surrounding northwoods landscape, specifically our artificial pine trees and ground cover plants like our artificial vines and ferns. Commercial Silk International was contracted for the design, build, and installation of the indoor artificial landscape for their expertise and international reputation in the artificial plant industry.
     
INITIATIVES:
  
Working closely with the design and installation crew at Commerical Silk Int'l, specific artificial plant material such as our artificial White Pine Trees were selected to reflect the natural habitat of the northern Minnesota landscape outdoors. The placement of the pine trees were positioned to accentuate the structure of the custom man-made rocks, to define the lazy river path, and to scale the height of the indoor water park.
     
RESULTS:
  
Commercial Silk Int’l installed large artificial pines throughout the water park to create a fun, kid-friendly atmosphere. The pine trees and artificial ferns gave life to the northwoods theme the client desired and they provided a nice contrast in color and texture, while defining areas for the featured attractions of the water park.
