Large Artificial Trees For Water Park Of America

situation:

The Wirth Companies was looking to create an indoor water park with large artificial trees that would replicate the natural wonders of northern Minnesota, such as the big cascading falls of Gooseberry Falls State Park, the wandering St. Croix River, and the Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior. The signature challenge was to create highly believable replications -- to do so would require very large sized replica artificial trees to provide life-like scale. The desire for native plant species and meeting the municipality’s stringent fire codes added to the challenge.

initiatives:

The Commercial Silk Int’l design team worked closely with project theme designers to carry out their vision. Major scale challenges were solved by constructing massive Birch and Pine trees, which coincidentally became quite effective in masking unsightly building columns and helped define unique spaces for picnic eating areas.

results:

This north woods Minnesota experience was successfully replicated with large artificial trees custom crafted and installed by Commercial Silk Int’l. The project was completed on time and within budget parameters, and satisfied all fire code requirements.
