Colorado Christian Academy

A Custom Library Tree, Built for Story Time At Colorado Christian Academy, the children’s library was built around a single custom tree that had to do two things at once: anchor the spot where story time happens, and hold up as genuinely real at the scale a child actually sees it, from the reading circle at its base to the canopy passing through a cut opening in the ceiling. Commercial Silk fabricated the tree to match the school’s concept image and carried it from first drawings through production, a late design revision, and an after-hours installation inside the occupied school. JFK International Airport is undergoing one of the most significant terminal redevelopments in its history, and Terminal 1 is at the center of it. The new Terminal 1 is designed to be a world-class gateway — a space that communicates scale, arrival, and a sense of place from the moment passengers enter. As part of that vision, the design team selected large-scale artificial sugar maple trees as a central biophilic feature, anchoring the interior landscape with the quiet authority of a northeastern forest canopy.

Plantscape Commercial Silk was engaged to design and fabricate the trees. The project is currently moving through our Eden Prairie production facility, with installation scheduled for later this year.

The newest TV spot tied to the The Devil Wears Prada world is doing what it does best—serving polished chaos, impeccable styling, and interiors that feel just as intentional as the outfits. But if you looked closely while the camera moved through the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York, you might’ve noticed something… familiar. That tree? Yeah—that’s ours. Tucked seamlessly into the grandeur of the space, it plays its role perfectly. Not stealing the scene, but absolutely elevating it. It’s the kind of design moment that feels effortless—like it belongs in a world where every detail is curated down to the […]

Bass Pro Shops is known for turning retail into an experience—stores that feel less like shopping centers and more like stepping into the wild. To support that vision, Plantscape Commercial Silk was contracted by the Florida outdoor retail company to create custom artificial greenery for an in-store display designed to tell the brand story and elevate the customer journey. Design & Execution With a fixed budget and an immovable grand opening deadline, our team worked in lockstep with the client to meet exacting aesthetic expectations. Every tree, branch, and canopy had to feel convincingly natural to an audience that knows […]

Vision The vision for the Disney Cruise Line terminal at Port Everglades was to bring new life and lasting magic back to the experience. With the live plants in decline due to a lack of light, the Port wanted to restore the lush, vibrant atmosphere that sets the tone for guests embarking on a Disney voyage. As one of the world’s most beloved hospitality brands, Disney emphasizes immersive storytelling at every touchpoint. The landscape surrounding the terminal had to look alive, feel authentic, and stay consistently beautiful, reflecting the same level of care and wonder that guests expect before ever […]

BACKGROUND Plantscape Commercial Silk collaborated with Supermass Studio on the interior landscape for Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport, New York. Supermass Studio’s original plan featured live plants and trees. However, due to the climate-controlled interior and the large scale of the trees required, live greenery was not a viable solution. Plantscape provided a practical alternative, recommending high-quality artificial plants that maintained aesthetic realism while eliminating the risks and costs of live plants. INTENT The goal was to transform Terminal B into a calming and immersive environment for passengers. Airports, often associated with stress from delays and layovers, needed a design […]

PREMISE When it comes to hotels, a brand based off of comfort is essential; From the moment someone walks into a hotel, their entire experience is based off of their comfort and enjoyment of the space. It’s important to consider how the inclusion of landscape features will make a person feel. OUTDOOR HEDGES FOR NORTON HEALTHCARE

Case Studies

PREMISE We were contacted to create a series of curved artificial hedges to fit the unique contours of this outdoor courtyard at a children’s hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. We were delighted to see that the hedges were accounted for in the early design of the outdoor space, and a footprint had already been designated for the installation. We knew that we would be building hedges for a very precise radius, and that our product would need to fit perfectly on the first attempt in order to have a seamless project completed on-time. INTENT We’re no strangers to building outdoor artificial […]

Pool Deck at Syntech Lawns

PREMISE Our client wanted to transform this hyper modern property into something lush and overgrown, fusing its identity more closely with nature and softening the overall appearance and energy of the facility. The foliage needed to look natural, cover a huge area, and last for several years in order to make the investment worthwhile – working against that goal would be nearly constant sunshine and intense coastal winds. This project underwent a lot of evolution as it progressed in design and product choice, where pragmatic thinking helped the client secure a longer-lasting outcome. INTENT The conceptual design for this project […]

PREMISE Let’s take a moment to talk about branding. Branding can mean a lot, from the appearance of a logo, to the color scheme of a room, and the way in which it’s executed goes a long way to color your perception of the brand. For example, there’s a notable difference in perception between a sticker and an engraving. A sticker of a logo or brand mark shows no depth of thought, and no consideration for context. It can be applied virtually anywhere for a trivial cost, and is most often met with a response of disinterest or dubiousness. An […]
