Live plant installations, for all their beauty, can also lead to disappointing changes and maintenance over the years. The Minneapolis Convention Center hosted live trees in its corridors for years, but over time the trees had become unsightly and constantly created debris that needed to be cleaned. During a recent renovation, they took to opportunity to replace these trees with exceptionally durable, low maintenance artificial Red Oak trees. These trees were specially designed to overhand seating areas to provide implied privacy and create division between specific areas. The trees were also designed to be “mischief-proof” and were specifically engineered to support a full grown man hanging from the branches without tipping — Just one of the many considerations gleaned from a long history of successful installations.
